Upon contact with tissue BIOPAPER® turns into a clear gel layer which adheres firmly to the wound surface, acting as a mechanical and natural barrier to accelerate coagulation, stop bleeding and prevent postoperative adhesion formation. It can also prevent fluid and air leakage in specific surgical procedures. With neutral pH, does not cause neither tissue/nerve irritation nor foreign body reactions and it is totally absorbed and excreted from the body in 4 weeks via enzymatic degradation (final products CO2-H2O)
